Atlanta landscaping firm enters its next chapter with a focus on design build growth and long-term stability
Atlanta, GA — Buckhead Landscape and Design, a trusted Atlanta-area landscape design, installation, and maintenance firm, announces the transition of ownership to Andrew Ward, who becomes the company’s second generation owner beginning January 1, 2026. Andrew has spent the past decade working in nearly every role in the company, most recently serving as General Manager. The transition marks a planned and natural step forward for the firm as founder Stuart Ward begins to shift out of day-to-day operations.
Buckhead Landscape and Design was founded in 1996 when Stuart unexpectedly found himself starting the business after neighbors asked him to care for their properties. Through referrals and a commitment to quality, the company grew from a part-time maintenance service into a well known Atlanta landscaping firm. Over the years, the business has been shaped by a strong set of values focused on family, accountability, collaboration, integrity, and commitment. Today’s ownership transition reflects the company’s long term vision to keep those values at the center while supporting continued growth, especially in landscape design and construction services.
Andrew joined the company more than ten years ago and has worked across the full spectrum of services. He began with fertilization and weed control, moved into maintenance, then into project installation, design, estimating, and full project management. With a background in plant identification, landscape design, and CAD, he has been instrumental in expanding the firm’s design build offerings. His approach centers on transforming underused or challenging properties into spaces clients can enjoy and be proud of, a direction that aligns with the firm’s evolution toward higher end residential outdoor living projects.
“Andrew has earned this role through years of hard work, dedication, and a genuine passion for what we do,” said founder Stuart Ward. “He has already been running much of the company, and I have full confidence in his ability to lead it into the future. I will continue to support him as needed, but this is his company now.”
